So, about a month ago, my friend Melissa (follow her on twitter at @mgonyeo or @ecolissa), owner of Ecolissa.com, approached me about offering a 20% discount to my readers (which is still going on, by the way, just enter coupon code "vegan20" when you check out. And let me know what you buy!
I, for one, fell madly in love with the Toggery "J" Dress. I haven't reviewed it yet because I've been waiting for someone to come take a picture of me in it. You know, like a good picture. Better than one that I'd set up with a timer (I tried), and far better than one I'd take of myself in the mirror with my iPhone.
But it's been a month. And I owe Melissa a review. And I freaking love this dress.
I'm not really great at reviewing clothes, as I'm just recently starting to care about them again (c'mon, I work from home--I live in PJs and yoga clothes), but I would say this dress is both simple and classy. The fabric is deliciously soft and I like the way it flows on me--it's definitely a flattering cut, and it's comfortable (which is super important to me). It's a great length above the knee (I'm not very tall, only about 5'4"). It has long sleeves, but it's light enough that I'm not too warm to be going out to dinner in South Beach.
So last night, I was getting ready to go out to dinner and then to take in some of the South Beach Comedy Festival (I didn't know this at the time--it was all an excellent surprise). And I wanted to know if the Toggery Dress looked good with my cowboy boots (from Alternative Outfitters, FYI). And I can't make that decision alone--I had to send a pic to my BFF (isn't this why camera phones were invented?!)--so I took a picture of myself in the mirror with my iPhone.
Anyway, this review is far overdue. And the photo isn't that bad. You can see the awesomeness of the dress, right?

ReplyDeleteThank you! There's a better pic on the Ecolissa site, but I'm seriously in love with this dress!!!

You look adorable! I did order a cowl neck shirt with the discount you offered. I like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, JL. I'm so glad we both got something we like! :)

Cute dress! Weren't camera phones invented so you could get girlfriends opinions of outfits? LOL, you are too cute. I will admit I do the same thing with my camera phone.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, and talk to you later,
Ali
That's EXACTLY why they were invented, Ali! I prefer shopping for clothes alone, but I need my BFF's opinions too. I send so many pics from dressing rooms, LOL!
ReplyDelete(In fact, I remember the moment when I realized that--many years ago, I was in DSW and I wanted my best friend's opinion on a pair of shoes--it was the first time I ever even used the camera in my phone--prior to that, I remember thinking, "how stupid to put a camera in a phone," hahaha! How wrong I was!)
